The Subaru 2.5 Liter engine seems to have become the powerplant of choice in the 550 Spyder for those seeking a water cooled car. We have built many of these and our customers are thrilled with the power and overall performance.

The 550 S combines the classic 550 Spyder appearance with a modern suspension, engine and gearbox lay-out. It is the same classic shape with a computer controlled 4 cylinder boxer style engine, 4 speed gearbox, DeDion rear suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes and many other special features as Standard equipment on this offering. Prices start at $37,500.00

Currently we are producing the 550 S only in Subaru powered versions. These are a custom order, and require additional time to complete to your specific requirements. Carey Hines is the head of our shop and the "go to" guy for all of the details of these special Spyders. He is available by phone after 3pm, when the shop winds down a bit from the days production.
Please call for water cooled Spyder 550 information. We now manufacture not only the 550 S Audi/VW powered Spyder but also the popular SUBARU powered version as well.
