ABOUT OUR BUILD SCHEDULES (All potential customers please read this)
Special Edition, Inc. strives to supply the best Speedster and Spyder reproduction cars available. Many major automotive magazines agree. Our BECK Speedster® and our 550 Spyders have no equal in the market. You can find cheaper products quite easily, and those who provide these alternatives are pleased to take your money. Caveat Emptor.
Estimates of build and delivery times are just that, Estimates. They are based on many factors including the delivery times of our component suppliers, the volume of custom work being performed, and many, many others.
Please understand that we will do our utmost to maintain the schedule discussed at the time that your order is placed. (Definition of ORDER PLACED = your $5000.00 deposit in our mailbox.) The additional payments required during the build process need to be timely as well. We will supply subsequent invoices to you by email and will have discussed the process before accepting your order.
Basically, it is as follows:
1st = $5000.00 Deposit (Credit Card or Personal/Business Check) 2nd = Balance of Body Package Cost ($19,500.00 - $5000.00 deposit = $14,500.00 by Check.) 3rd = Optional Package Payment. (When we start to add YOUR selections to the body pack by check.) 4th = Mechanical Payment to the selected supplier. (Credit Card or approved check) Final Balance = Assembly and Shipping Invoice. (Wire or Cashier's Check, as this is nearing shipping date, unless other plans are made beforehand.)
Payment of delivery fees are subject to the terms of each individual carrier. These vary by company. Some accept Cashier's Checks on delivery, others require that we handle the funds collection and submit this to them. All of our carriers are required to submit Insurance documentation and DOT compliance paperwork. The cars are inspected by the drivers before loading and it is your responsibility to check the condition upon arrival. This includes both physical condition as well as content. (Keys, Radio, Spare, FloorMats, Etc.) Note any thing missing on the delivery document prior to signing it as "Accepted". This protects us both.
